Explanation: After Jesus instituted the Lord's Supper on Thursday of the Passion Week he warned his disciples that they would be scattered but regathered; and he warned Peter that he would deny him but would be restored. In addition, to give them an extra measure of reassurance, he instructed them to regather and meet him in Galilee after he was raised from the dead.

Matthew 26:31-35; Mark 14:27-31; Luke 22:31-38; John 13:36-38

John 13:36 Simon Peter said unto him, Lord, whither go you? Jesus answered him, Whither I go, you can not follow me now; but you shall follow me afterwards. John 13:37 Peter said unto him, Lord, why cannot I follow you now? I will lay down my life for your sake. Matthew 26:31 Then said Jesus unto them, All you shall be offended because of me this night: for it is written, I will smite the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock shall be scattered abroad. Mark 14:28 But after that I am risen [Matthew 26:32b again], I will go before you into Galilee.
Matthew 26:33 Peter answered and said unto him, Though all men shall be offended because of you, yet will I never be offended. Luke 22:31 And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan has desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat: Luke 22:32 But I have prayed for you, that your faith fail not: and when you are converted, strengthen your brethren. Luke 22:33 And he said unto him, Lord, I am ready to go with you, both into prison, and to death. Mark 14:30 And Jesus [John 13:38a answered] (and) said unto him, [John 13:38b Will you lay down your life for my sake? Verily, verily] I say unto you [Luke 22:34b Peter], That this day, even in this night, before the cock crow twice, you shall deny [Luke 22:34c that you know me] thrice. Mark 14:31 But [Matthew 26:35 Peter] spoke the more vehemently, If I should die with you, I will not deny you in any wise. Likewise also said [Matthew 26:35b all the disciples].
Luke 22:35 And he said unto them, When I sent you without purse, and scrip, and shoes, lacked you any thing? And they said, Nothing. Luke 22:36 Then said he unto them, But now, he that has a purse, let him take it, and likewise his scrip: and he that has no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one. Luke 22:37 For I say unto you, that this that is written must yet be accomplished in me, And he was reckoned among the transgressors: for the things concerning me have an end. Luke 22:38 And they said, Lord, behold, here are two swords. And he said unto them, It is enough.
