OH YES
Judith Deem Dupree
Oh yes oh yes
I miss you miss you
I watch the sun flatten out the hilltops
fray the brace of pines beyond
the meadow
my voice frays in the heat and too my soul
down down the scale to an endless
tatter of song that
birthed when your voice made music
oh yes oh yes made the walls sing out
the curtains shimmy the jays come swooping
stomping dipping
cawing their tympani through the window and
ah I came dancing
danced down the hall in a perfect dither
a perfect perfect mindless dither
like a flute gone mad gone crazed with wonder
gone riotous with joy
oh yes I miss you
