2007 RETREAT CANCELLED
In view of an unusually low number of registrations, the leaders of Ad Lib decided to cancel the retreat for 2007. This situation has encouraged us to re-evaluate and re-think the ministry and how it will be carried forth. While this is a humbling circumstance, we sense that God is speaking to us decisively, and that He is saying "Listen! Be still and know that I am GOD!" That is a thrilling thing to consider. So many of us tend to "carry on" in familiar and comfortable (and sometimes uncomfortable) ways until He puts a barrier before us.
The world has changed considerably in the 12 years since we put our dreams to the test as Ad Lib. The needs of the world, and the needs of those called to artistic expression, are varied, and have grown in complexity and depth and immediacy.
A small group of Ad Lib volunteers and supporters will meet during the scheduled retreat weekend, at the Franciscan Center in Colorado Springs. We will engage in prayer and focused discussion regarding the vision for future ministry. We invite those who have been a part of Ad Lib to offer their input as well. We welcome your suggestions, and yes, constructive critiques. We also solicit the perspectives and "dreams" of those who have not attended one or more of our eleven previous gatherings. Consider this an invitation to help reshape a ministry, as we gather for that sole purpose.
As a non-profit organization (501(c) 3), we have an open door to future service. We welcome it humbly, gratefully, and with a certain "peace that passes understanding." We covet your prayers, and if God leads, your active participation in the years ahead.
