     Explanation: John's words below, in the Blended Gospel Section, sum up not only the intent of his Gospel, but also the intent (directly or indirectly) of all of Scripture. It seems, from the Gospel accounts, that the only people who saw Christ after the resurrection were those who believed in him. To them he gave the special task of being his witnesses on earth. When he next becomes visible it will be to all the world, and it will be in judgment. But that is for a later day. "Behold, now is the day of salvation" (2 Corinthians 6:2-b). He has held that day open for 2,000 years. Such is his love, his grace, his patience, and his tender mercy - - ample inspiration for many a song.

OH all ye, who passe by, whose eyes and minde
To worldly things are sharp, but to me blinde;
To me, who took eyes that I might you finde:
                    Was ever grief like mine?

John 20:30-31; 21:24-25

     John 20:30 And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book: John 20:31 But these are written, that you might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing you might have life through his name.
     John 21:24 This is the disciple which testifies of these things, and wrote these things: and we know that his testimony is true. John 21:25 And there are also many other things which Jesus did, the which, if they should be written every one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that should be written. Amen.
